14 November 2012 - NetBSD 5.2_RC1 binaries available

On behalf of the NetBSD developers, Jeff Rizzo has announced the availability of a public rc 1 of NetBSD 5.2. The binaries can be found at ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-5.2_RC1/; ISO images are available at ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-5.2_RC1/iso/.

17 October 2012 - NetBSD 6.0 released!

NetBSD 6.0 is now available! Please see the release notes, or just dive in and grab the binaries from your closest NetBSD mirror. We hope you're as excited as we are.

1 October 2012 - pkgsrc-2012Q3 released

The pkgsrc team is proud to announce the availability of the pkgsrc-2012Q3 branch. There are many new packages, and some bug fixes. More work has gone into making packages build with Clang (as well as different versions of GCC), and pkgsrc actively maintains packages, removing unused or abandoned packages, while still adding new ones.

www.pkgsrc.org was converted to a wiki. We hope the contents will be a bit less static now, and keep you better informed about changes in pkgsrc.

22 Sept 2012 - NetBSD 6.0_RC2 binaries available

The NetBSD project is pleased to welcome the following new developers:

11 Feb 2012 - NetBSD 5.1.2 released

The NetBSD release engineering team has announced that the NetBSD 5.1.2 release is now available for download. NetBSD 5.1.2 is the second critical/security update of the NetBSD 5.1 release branch. It represents a selected subset of fixes deemed critical for security or stability reasons. All users are encouraged to upgrade. See the NetBSD 5.1.2 Release Announcement for more information.

04 Feb 2012 - Hackathon 16

The 16th NetBSD hackathon will be run from February 10th to February 12th. Our goal is fixing all the bugs that need fixing to get NetBSD-current ready for the creation of the NetBSD 6.0 release branch.

Join us on the IRC channel #netbsd-code on freenode (irc.freenode.net). Just join, have a look around and ask your questions or what work needs to be done. See the Hackathon wiki page for more details.
