The 52nd quarterly pkgsrc branch, pkgsrc-2016Q3, was released with more than 17000 entries and 276 new packages (including over 30 TexLive packages added). See the release announcement for more information.

12 Jul 2016 - Stable pkgsrc-2016Q2 branch released
The 51st quarterly pkgsrc branch, pkgsrc-2016Q2, was released with more than 17000 entries and 301 new packages. Notable new packages include Ardour (Digital Audio Workstation), Code::Blocks IDE, CodeLite IDE, CoreCLR (.NET runtime and library), and the MATE desktop environment.

Three new security advisories were published:
- NetBSD-SA2016-003 Privilege escalation in calendar(1)
- NetBSD-SA2016-002 BDF file parsing issues in libXfont
- NetBSD-SA2016-001 Multiple vulnerabilities in ntp daemon

01 Jan 2016 - Stable pkgsrc-2015Q4 branch released
The pkgsrc developers are proud to announce the pkgsrc-2015Q3 branch. There are 16846 possible packages in pkgsrc-2015Q4, up from 16764 last quarter. Notable new packages this quarter include kodi (home media center software previously known as xbmc), php-baikal (a CardDAV/CalDAV server), freecol (a Colonization clone), unicorn (a CPU emulator framework), and clang-static-analyzer.
